Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts is a non-profit performing arts center located in East Harlem, New York.  We offer music lessons, dance classes, and acting classes to children in Harlem, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx and beyond.  The Harbor is internationally renowned for its Latin music program, providing lessons in almost every instrument in the Latin playing style.    

Our mission is to provide children and teens with a complete education in music, dance and theater in a challenging, caring and encouraging environment that fosters positive self-image, an appreciation of the arts and an understanding of cultural diversity.

Located in El Barrio, Harbor Conservatory is acclaimed for its Latin music curriculum. All three disciplines offered at the school -- music, dance and theater -- celebrate the cultural contributions of our dynamic, diverse East Harlem community to the American performing arts canon.

We hope to instill pride in our students as they learn about their ancestral heritage and their neighborhood's prominent place in music history.

Our staff is comprised of teachers of the highest quality in the music, dance, and theater fields; professional performers and performing arts educators who are recognized as leaders in their fields. Classes combine rigorous training and fun to create an atmosphere where students can meet others with similar interests and still prepare for a range of performance experiences.

Through its after-school programs, outreach to public schools and work with community groups, Harbor Conservatory strives to reach as many neighborhood children as possible. We believe that training in the arts encourages self-esteem, discipline and focus. Whether or not our students pursue the arts professionally, these qualities are essential as they pursue excellence in their education, careers and their lives.

Boys and Girls Harbor, Inc., founded by Tony Duke, is a sixty-five year old non-profit,multi-service educational youth agency positively affecting the lives of over 6,000 children and families of East and Central Harlem each year.
